Chapter 1

Wisteria Fields

A child ran by herself in a small town, passing many smiling faces of her cheerful neighbors. The girl sported gray purple hair pulled into two thick braids that rested just below her shoulders bouncing off her lose brown T-shirt with every step. She dashed out of the town and headed into the wisteria field surrounding the small town. The wisteria trees climbed man made rails and shaded the light starved ground ground with heavy hanging flowers of both pink and purple. Their thick sweet sent hung through the air. The young girl dashed heading towards a collection of green trees. Butterfrees scattered into the air and Sentrets dashed along the ground.

Nearing the green trees the slight sound of a bubbling river trickled through the trees. Not even stopping to catch her breath the young girl kept running. She reached the river where muddy water rushed violently, splashing beneath a raised wooden bridge. The girl paused at the bridge and looked to the large tree just on the clearing by the other side. Her foots steps clunked against the wood she ran with all of her might. And with with every ounce of strength the young girl jumped up on the trees lowest branch. Heaving herself up she grunted, the tree made a sudden crack and before the young girl could react the branch broke with her still clinging.

She crashed to the ground, chin first. She then attempted to get up, failing she brefily glanced around, her arms previously scabbed had started bleeding slightly, but her ankle was pinned beneath the branch twice her weight. Failing to push the branch off her leg she broke down crying.

A girl only about 3 years older ran up an noticed the young girls pain. Long straight golden brown hair rested in the middle of her back, just below the girls waist against her pale pink dress. Strangely her face seemed a blur and her words echoed as words but not a voice. A Beautifly was called out by the girl and it kicked up a strong wind by flapping its wings and and with the help of the young trainer the two lifted the thick branch off the young girl. This young trainer then had her Beautifly help lift the young girl onto her back and by flapping its wings gently the Beautifly attempted to ease the weight.

Upon entering the own the young girl was pealed off the back of the other girl the young girl cried “Thank you -chan!” but was drown out by a loud music, some sort of song. The world gradually faded into black with the music focusing and becoming clearer.

A much older girl with gray purple hair opened her eyes, she laid on a white bed with cream pillows. Rolling over she forced the pillow out from under her head and then over her head to block the song blaring from her alarm clock. Her arm reached out from the comforter and blindly grasped at the night stand, knocking over her alarm clock and turning the volume even louder. Sighing the girl sat up and started rubbing her eyes. She flung her feet over the bed and reached down for her alarm clock and turned the loud music off. She stood and looked out the window with blurry eyes, admiring her third story view of miles and miles of of well maintained wisteria trees. She stumbled out of her room. On her door a wooden name plate shaped like a wisteria flower read “Kari”.

She walked down stairs, glancing at the door with the same name plate reading “Riri” she shrugged and smiled before walking into the wash room and brushing her hair into a high ponytail ending at the base of her neck. She put on her outfit, a long sleeved white shirt with a shoulder baring neck hole. To cover this she put on a simple blue dress with shoulder straps just thick enough to hid her bra straps but still expose her shoulders. Long blue jeans completed her outfit and she continued onto the kitchen. Where she was greeted by a woman clearly in a mid crisis with to much make-up, and a tank top barely showing under her cooking apron.

“Good morning Kari! I made pancakes, and theirs some cut up fruit on the table. You have to eat a very big breakfast this morning, the eggs will be done shortly.” she cheerful rambled, poking at the scrambled eggs in the pan. Beside her rested a tall stack of pancakes.

“I’ll take these to the table then,” grabbing the pancakes Kari walked through the door less walk way into the dinning room where a man with frown lines deeply ingrained on his forehead read the newspaper. He looked up at his daughter entering the room and he gently placed the paper on the table.

“Your mom has gone nuts cooking. I swear she would have made you a turkey for this morning if I hadn’t said it was stupid,” he chuckled in a deep voice.

“Hey I heard that! And it was only an idea!” the mothers voice rang around the corner.

Kari sat and placed the pancakes in the center of the table, “Awww that’s just Mom.”

“You know she’s scared,” Kari’s father leaned over the table and whispered, “Are you sure that this is the path you truly must take?”

“Yes Dad, I know it scares both you and Mom, especially after ‘the 400′ but the worlds got to keep going and I don’t think Ri-nee-chan would have liked me to give up.”

“I’ve tried to change your mind every day for the last nine years, I guess it’s not going to change now,” he sigh and leaned against his chair.

“Eat up, eat up eat up!” the mother cheered walking into the room with a large platter of eggs.

After a final sweep out the house, Kari put on a belt with 6 holding tabs attached to a fanny pack. Over her shoulder she placed a large white bag holding some canned food and sleeping gear.

“Kari don’t forget your PokeKey!” her mother shouted holding up a a sliver cellular phone. And with nothing left Kari walked out the door waving.

At the edge of the yard a wooden dog house rested, “Hey! Shybone! Kari called. Timidly a Furret stuck out a portion of is head, “Shybone!” Kari called again leaning over the doghouse, “Don’t worry this will be the last time you have to escort me through the River Wood Forest, once we get to Daisy Valley you can run yourself back here as fast as you like, okay?”

Shybone slowly crept out from the security of his dog house and together they walked. Faces of the neighbors passed by were a combination of proud and apprehensive. Kari calmly walked through the wisteria trees in full bloom drooping with the heavy flowers releasing a thick scent, Butterfrees vacated the trees and scattered into the sky as Sentrets rsn every direction. Nearing the forest the sound of the river gently whispered through the rustling trees. The sun peaked through the trees and Beedrills buzzed over head as Pidgeotto chased. Those two being the strongest pokemon one could find within the River Wood Forest.

The river splashed and rushed underneath the wooden bridge and the sound of Kari’s footsteps clunked as she crossed where Shybones footsteps were inaudible over the roar of the river. Shortly there after the two passed a large in a clearing with a lower branch clearly snapped off.

Another a low growl distracted her from the rumble of the river. There was a Pokemon, a very unhappy Pokemon very close by. Shybone ran to Kari’s side and hid behind her legs. The growling became louder and louder and Shybone got closer to Kari’s legs violently shivering. The strongest Pokemon within the forest should be no stronger then a Beedrill or Pidgeotto, the only Pokemon which crawled on the ground and should be able to growl would be a Zigzagoon or a Ratata. From the brushes emerged not one or two but THREE Houndooms. At the mere sight of such strong opponents Shybone did what any coward would do and turned tail and ran, leaving Kari unprotected, with three angry Houndooms.

Kari slowly backed away her hounds out in front of her and her heart racing, the three Houndooms continued to follow her. Not looking the in direction of which she was backing into she found herself right against the tree with the snapped branch from her childhood. Desperate she glanced at her feet where a thick stick lied, slowly she picked it up and prepared herself. The middle Houndoom leaped into the air and bite through the thick stick, breaking it into a thousand pieces.

“Are you stupid?” a young girls voice rang from the tree branches about Kari, “Taking on a Houndoom with a stick? That’s the Most Moronic act I have seen in quite some time.” Looking up Kari saw a young girl, she had long wavy gray hair, a gray dress with long droopy sleeves coated with white frills. She tightly clutched a well made Beautifly doll and she glared at the seen below her.

From her tree branch she leapt to the ground and it seemed as though she floated, or fell in slow motion. Her hair elegantly waving and following the rest of her in a delay, gently she touched the ground never faltering. Kari lost her breath staring at possibly the worlds prettiest eleven year old. Removing a single arm from her precious doll her flicked her long wavy hair and glared at the Houndooms. “Well Mongrels, have you lost the thrill of a hunt?”

For some reason the three hunkered down and backed away slowly before one on the side pounced forward, baring fangs, the young girl merely held out her arm and allowed it to Crunch on her arm. Her piercing blue eyes glared at the Houndoom before she smirked, “What’s wrong? You call this a Crunch Attack? It tickles.” continuing to hold her doll with her un-bit arm she kicked it in the stomach, the Houndoom released her arm and was sent flying into a neighboring tree. “Next?” all three growled and ran towards the town of Daisy Valley.

The girl then turned to Kari, “What were you thinking, you pathetic fool? Three mongrels against a trainer who couldn’t train a cowardly Pokemon? They would have snapped your neck in two.”

“Umm well,” Kari raised her arm to her chest, still in shock and slightly intimidated by the world’s strongest, scariest, and mouthiest eleven year old, “I was borrowing my family’s pet Pokemon to get my own from the professor in daisy valley.”

“Tch” the girl responded, “I will escort you the remainder of the way to the Daisy Valley.”

She brushed her long hair off her shoulder again and began her track to town.

“What the Hey is that kid?”

Favored Son of God

7:13 pm in Angel Sanctuary, Anime / Manga Titles, Fiction Rated: T, Ratings by fangshinobi

Disclaimer: Angel Sanctuary is property of Yuki Kaori, the craziest, most awesome, most astounding, most jaw-dropping shoujo mangaka out there (well, if you’re into her somewhat gothic, macabre style, that is).

Favored Son of God

by Fang Shinobi

-

He was the favored son of God

Bearer of light, loved by all

How one so high would fall so low

To the deepest depths of Hell

Where he was king, still loved by all

No one knew, not me nor you.

-

But on his dark throne in hell

Surrounded by the fallen

Like a chiming, resounding bell

He could hear her voice a-calling

He knew he had to take her

The three-winged angel Alexiel

-

With her eyes that knew no fear

She drew him into her prison

The garden where the trees

Forbidden fruit they bear

And on this holy soil of Eden

Tread he dared on leaves crimson

-

She took his hand when he came, but

‘Twas not long they were together

‘Cause by His curse she was lost

To die mortal deaths forever

Through her every life he follows

Without ever rest or pause

-

All his memories forgotten

He did not know why he loved her

But in his heart she was there

So he follows her without a care

Of who he was or what he was

Compared to her, they did not matter

-

In her last reincarnation

He who has pursued her

Stayed faithfully by her side

In her new life, he was a brother

For she, now a man, loved another

This another was his sister

-

A guardian angel or a demon

Which one he was he did not care

When he looks upon this boy

He does not see her silken hair

Nor her lips of deep crimson

He had not expected to love another

-

Once the favored son of God,

Once the mighty lord of Hell

How one so high would fall so low

To die for his three winged angel

Knowing they could never be together

No one knew, not me nor you

A/N: I took Creative Writing class last semester, and while we were writing fan fiction (yes, our teacher is also a fan of anime, manga and fan fiction, wow, I know) I suddenly got inspired to write this. Lucifer’s story is just so whoa. I really hoped he could have his Alexiel, aw. Anyway, I couldn’t finish it in time for the deadline though, so I submitted something else. But one night, inspiration struck me once more and I finished the poem (it was last October). Here it is now. Any comments? Critiques? I’m not much of a poet lol. The parts about Setsuna seem so off lol. Any suggestions for improvement? (Btw, this was first submitted on my FFNet account under the same user name.)

Katekyo Hitman Reborn

A Hibari Kyouya x Yamamoto Takeshi fan fiction

Title: Is it too late?

Previous Chapter(s): Chapter 1

Genre: Romance, Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Drama.

Rating: T or T+.

Warning(s): Semi-AU (Basically, no Mafia), Angst, Shounen-ai, Definitely OOCness because I’m not very far in the Manga at all, and more probably, I just can’t think of them.

Summary: Yamamoto has always loved Hibari, but kept it a secret for fear of getting hurt and hated. But when Hibari accidentally finds out, the angst begins.

Extra: Inspired by decolorize’s KHR fan fiction on LJ, ‘Nightingale‘. Which was the most amazing KHR fan fiction I’ve ever read. :3 Go read it now! >:D

Extra Extra: Thanks Laurwhal for the idea of bird food! :’D Except I think I’m gonna have him make something. Mhm. :3 [Sorry! D:]

PS. Tell me if this is rushed okay? I think it might be… D:

He wondered what he could get for Hibari’s birthday, or if there was even enough time to get something. It’s already May 4th, the day before Hibari’s birthday. Yamamoto knew Hibari wouldn’t want a party, but what he didn’t know was what he would want for his birthday. It’s difficult to shop for someone who hardly likes anything, after all. Then he thought about the possibility of bird food, for Hibird, of course, (Not like there’s anyone else to give it to). But that thought quickly vanished, Yamamoto didn’t know what kind to get, and he was pretty sure Hibari already has enough.

So then the thought of making something came to mind. But what? What could he possibly want that he might like, even the slightest bit? Yamamoto wasn’t sure, but right now he needed to get back to class from his bathroom break. So he splashed some water on his face and went back to class.

The next day, during lunch time, Gokudera, Yamamoto, and Tsuna were sitting outside talking and eating.

“Are you sure you’re okay, Yamamoto?” Tsuna asked, titling his head somewhat, “You haven’t been looking too well for this whole past week.

“Yeah. I don’t really care, but you’ve been looking stressed lately.” Gokudera said, and picked up his sandwich and started eating it.

“Haha, no I’m fine!” Yamamoto replied while smiling. He must be good at lying because his smile seemed to reassure them some. Then he thought to himself, Maybe my love is just that strong? Then he laughed out loud without realizing it, and Gokudera looked skeptical, while Tsuna looked worried. Then Yamamoto looked down at his lunch, “Oh,” He said, “I haven’t started eating my lunch yet.”

“Idiot.” Gokudera muttered, causing Yamamoto to look up at him with a questioning look on his face. So he continued, “That’s only because you’ve been in such a daze this whole time.” He said, and Yamamoto just blinked, kind of surprised. That made Gokudera glare, “Really, why do I even bother explaining to an idiot like you?” He mumbled and looked to the side at Tsuna, then started up a conversation with him.

Yamamoto just stared at them for a bit, then looked down at his uneaten food again and drifted back into his thoughts of what to do for Hibari’s birthday. It’s already May 5th, the day of Hibari’s birthday, and he still hasn’t thought of anything to make him yet! So of course Yamamoto’s stressed. For a brief moment he thought about not getting him anything at all, but then quickly shook his head no, thinking otherwise.

Just as he opened up the lid to his lunch, he heard his name being called, but ignored it. Hibari’s more important after all. Once he looked at his food, something clicked. Sushi. He could make Hibari sushi!

He looked up with a big smile on his face and shouted, “Sushi!!” And everyone looked at him weird. “Hm?” He looked around smiling obliviously.

“Y-Yamamoto?” Tsuna stuttered, “Are you o–“

“Oh, just leave him.” Gokudera interrupted, “Yeah, you have sushi for lunch,” He mocked, “It’s over now so shut up.” And walked away.

“G-Gokudera!” Tsuna called after him, and then looked to Yamamoto for help.

“It’s okay, Tsuna.” Yamamoto smiled up at him, “I’ll finish my lunch here, so go to class. I’ll be there soon, so don’t worry.”

Tsuna looked at him, slightly surprised, but then gave in, “Okay.” He walked off after Gokudera, “See you soon!” He smiled and waved, and Yamamoto did the same.

“Now… to make some sushi.” He grinned. Yamamoto looked around to make sure no one would witness this, but to especially make sure that person wouldn’t tell the head prefect Hibari, and he ran home once he saw that the coast was clear.

It took a while to get it all perfect (with the secret help of his father), and when it was all ready to go, he looked at the clock and freaked out. Five more minutes until school ends!

“I have to hurry! Bye dad!” And when Yamamoto ran out the door, his father called after him.

“Good luck getting it to that mystery girl on time!”

And Yamamoto didn’t dare tell him that this ‘mystery girl’ is actually a guy named Hibari Kyouya.

Once he got on school grounds, he noticed that only 3 people were still leaving. And he didn’t see Tsuna or Gokudera anywhere, either. Kind of a good thing, he thought.

“Now to find Hibari…” He mumbled to himself, “I just hope he’s still here.” He looked around the place a couple times then went to go check the roof, because the reception room was the last option.

The door was slightly ajar, so he pushed it open further just enough so that he could walk past the door.

He spotted Hibari right away. He was sleeping peacefully, it looked like. Yamamoto walked up to him and sat down, crossing his legs. He set the box of sushi down on the ground gently and as quiet as possible.

Yamamoto chuckled quietly, smiling down at Hibari, and not noticing his eyebrow twitch, he started speaking softly, “You’re amazing Hibari.” He doesn’t get a response. And he smiles sadly now, continuing on with his rant, “I’ve always wanted to be like you, you know? And to be honest, I really did admire you. ‘Did’ because now, I love you.” He paused for a moment and took a shaky deep breath, then started talking again, “Haha, it’s a good thing you can’t hear me right now,” and again, he didn’t take notice to Hibari’s eyebrow twitch, “because if you could, it’d just make my situation worse and you’d most likely think I’m weird and hate me and all that…” His voice trailed off, but then started up again, “But, I understand if you do think that, not that you’d ever find out about my feelings, though. And…” He smiled once more; but it was a sorrowful, painful smile. “I’m sorry.” It was said with such regret, such hopelessness and one could tell Yamamoto was about to cry. But he held it in, and decided it’s about time to wake Hibari (as scary as that sounds) to give him his birthday present. He has to get going soon anyways.

“Hibari,” He said loudly, but not too loud (in his own opinion), and Hibari’s eyes snapped open.

He turned his head to Yamamoto and his eyes narrowed, “Herbivore.” He said as a warning, and sat up, “Why did you disturb my sleep?” Hibari demanded.

Yamamoto smiled cheerfully, and Hibari could easily tell it was fake, “I have something for you.” Hibari narrowed his eyes even more, making the other more nervous, questioning himself if he really should have woken him up or just waited. So he picked up the box of homemade sushi and continued, “Happy Birthday, Hibari!” and handed the box to him.

Hibari just stared at it, “…How did you know today is my birthday?”

“Oh,” He responded, “Dino told me.” Except technically it’s the other way around. Yamamoto asked—demanded—for Hibari’s birth date, and Dino finally gave it to him.

Hibari’s anger seemed to be boiling now, and he started mumbling under his breath about killing off stupid herbivores. Finally, he just snatched the box out of Yamamoto’s hands, leaving Yamamoto slightly shocked, and opened the box up.

He stared at it. “Sushi?”

“Ahaha, it’s the only kind of present I could make that I thought you might like.” Yamamoto confessed.

Surprisingly, Hibari picked up a piece of sushi and ate it. His expression was still blank with slight annoyance, so Yamamoto couldn’t tell if he liked it or disliked it. Instead, he waited in anticipation for Hibari’s response.

“Decent enough.” He said at last, and Yamamoto let out a breath he didn’t know he had been holding.

Hey, he thought, at least it’s better than bad. And he smiled, a true smile this time, Hibari noted, and said, “I’m glad you like it!”

“Hn.” Was Hibari’s response.

“Haha, well I should get going. You can just give me that box back tomorrow.” He said, and Hibari glared at him menacingly, so Yamamoto quickly corrected himself, saying nervously, “Ah, um. If you want to, I mean.” And the other smirked in triumph.

After that, Yamamoto quickly left, and Hibari followed soon after (but of course they went to separate houses).

Later that night, Hibari couldn’t get to sleep. All he could think about was what Yamamoto had said to him while he was supposedly asleep on that roof. He just didn’t get it. Why would someone think about him that way? No one’s ever liked him, and he doesn’t like it when people do.

He will certainly have to bite Yamamoto Takeshi to death tomorrow. He smirked. Or maybe… he could have a little fun messing with his mind.

Yes, that’s what he will do. Most definitely.

End Chapter 2.

Ohh, I hope this isn’t rushed! D: Please tell me if it is.

So I hope it’s okay… And I hope the characters aren’t too OOC. Man, I hate when that happens. OOC characters annoy me. Even in my own stories, no, especially in my own stories.

Well thanks for reading, hope you enjoy! :’D I don’t know when the next chapter will be done. :[

Katekyo Hitman Reborn

A Hibari Kyouya x Yamamoto Takeshi fan fiction

Title: Is it too late?

Next Chapter: Chapter 2

Genre: Romance, Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Drama.

Rating: T or T+.

Warning(s): Semi-AU (Basically, no Mafia), Angst, Shounen-ai, Definitely OOCness because I’m not very far in the Manga at all, and more probably, I just can’t think of them.

Summary: Yamamoto has always loved Hibari, but kept it a secret for fear of getting hurt and hated. But when Hibari accidentally finds out, the angst begins.

Extra: Inspired by decolorize ‘s KHR fan fiction on LJ, ‘Nightingale‘. Which was the most amazing KHR fan fiction I’ve ever read. :3 Go read it now! >:’D

Hibari Kyouya was amazing, and Yamamoto couldn’t say enough about him. He was so strong, so fast, the way he swings around those tonfas with much skill, striking his opponent perfectly until they’re down. He was breathtakingly beautiful, those sapphire eyes, his intense and sharp gaze. It was captivating, alluring, and at times, Yamamoto found himself unable to look away. He found it cute, so adorable how much Hibari protected Namimori. How much he tried, and succeeded, in doing so. Hibari was a mysterious human being, and sometimes, Yamamoto would get distracted and think of him, trying to understand. If only he talked a little more, it would be easier to figure out what he was thinking. Maybe then Yamamoto wouldn’t feel so perplexed about him. But he had a certain charm to him that Yamamoto was sure only he could see.

Because all anybody saw in him was a frightening, ill-tempered teenager who was dangerous. Although Yamamoto wasn’t sure if he wasn’t respected by others, and just feared, or both. The only thing is, what did Hibari think of all this? Did he not care? Was he just content with everything the way it was? Probably. But Yamamoto still couldn’t help but wonder.

First, it was admiration for him, but then it turned into something more. And Yamamoto wasn’t sure when, but he did know one thing’s for sure.

Yamamoto Takeshi was in love, deeply in love with Hibari Kyouya.

He had to keep it to himself, he just had to. And although it may sound mean, he didn’t trust anyone if he were to tell them. It was logical though, wasn’t it? If he was to tell, those people may not accept him, or find it disgusting. Hibari might accidentally find out. Or worse—Hibari might hate him, shun him away and he would be so hurt, so broken that he wouldn’t know what to do anymore. Yes, his love is that strong. But even if that wasn’t the case, and if it were to never happen, Yamamoto didn’t care. It’s a secret that no one can know, no matter how much it hurts, how much it hurts to keep it all inside.

He sighed while on his way home. Today, Hibari had noticed Yamamoto staring at him, and he glared back with hatred. It doesn’t really seem like much, but, although Yamamoto found Hibari’s glares cute, it doesn’t feel the same when they’re directed at him. Even though it has happened a couple of times, not much though. Yamamoto didn’t want to seem suspicious. He didn’t want Hibari thinking anything of him as to why he kept staring, why he winced when Hibari glared back, and why he looked disappointed when turning away from Hibari. So it’s best to keep staring at a minimum. But he still couldn’t help it, Hibari was just so beautiful.

“I’m home.” Yamamoto said while walking through the door to his home, and set down his bag.

“Welcome back.” his father responded, “How was school?”

“Ah, it was okay.” He still couldn’t forget about Hibari’s hateful glare.

“Just okay?” his father asked, and Yamamoto just nodded, “Oh, well alright then.” And Yamamoto was glad his father didn’t question any further, because he wasn’t up for talking about it.

He walked into his room and lay down on his bed, “Wait, what day is it today?” He mumbled to himself. Yamamoto always seemed to forget these sorts of things, and would get confused with the days all the time.

So he got up and took a look at his calendar. “Oh,” he said, surprised, “Next week is Hibari’s birthday. May 5th.” then he murmured, “I should get him something. But I wonder what it should be…” And for a moment he thought about asking Tsuna, but immediately decided against it, thinking it wouldn’t be original and as special and important as it would if Yamamoto were to pick it himself.

He went back and lied down on his bed and thought long and hard on what present he should give Hibari on his birthday. Yamamoto eventually fell asleep thinking, completely forgetting all about his homework for school.

“Yamamoto, wake up! It’s almost time for school!” His father shouted while opening his son’s door, “Why didn’t you set your alarm?”

“Huh?” Yamamoto mumbled, still half asleep. “Oh, my alarm? I think I forgot to set it…”

“Well alright then. But it’s almost time for school, so get up and get ready to go.” His father said.

“’kay.” Yamamoto responded, and got up to get ready. His father had already left, and he looked at his clock to see how much time he has until school starts, “What?!” He yelled, “Fifteen minutes?” Then he sighed, “Oh well. I better hurry, though.”

After he got all ready to go, and was walking out the door, he remembered something, “Ah, geez! I forgot to do my homework! Maybe I should ask Gokudera for a copy…”

He then heard his father shout from somewhere in the house, “That’s what you get for falling asleep early!”

“Huh?” Yamamoto thought for a second then remembered what happened yesterday and laughed awkwardly, “Yeah, I guess…” And he walked to school reluctantly and slowly.

He was staring at his feet while he walked, but still able to see a bit ahead of him. The only problem was that he wasn’t paying attention to anyone around him, but only paid attention to things and the direction he was going. Yes, Yamamoto is still walking very slowly to school.

He just now walked past the school gate, “Yamamoto Takeshi, you’re late.” And he froze. His head was still facing his feet, and only when he heard footsteps coming towards him did he look up.

Laughing awkwardly and scratching the back of his head, he said, “Ahaha. I didn’t see you there, Hibari.”

Hibari’s eyes narrowed and he got straight to the point, “What were you doing that made you twenty-five minutes late, Yamamoto Takeshi?”

“Uh, I got lost?”

Hibari took out his tonfas, “Wrong answer.” And hit him across the face. Yamamoto nearly fell down. He stayed still with his head facing down and to the side, and eyes half way closed. “Herbivore.”

Yamamoto then closed his eyes. That’s right, he thought, I’m just the same as everyone else is to him. I’m no one special. Not at all… And he lifted his head up slightly and smiled sadly, which somewhat surprised Hibari, but the expression was quickly gone and replaced by a glaring face.

“Get to class or I’ll bite you to death.” Hibari threatened, and Yamamoto started walking without saying a word. Hibari just stared at his back, with a somewhat serious expression on his face. Not really worried, more like confused, but only kind of, about Yamamoto’s behavior. But he still slightly wondered what had happened and what was wrong with him.

End Chapter 1.

So what do guys think? :]

Man! I almost posted this chapter twice! But then some things happened and I had to delete it, and start over only to have to stop what I’m doing and delete it again! D: But now I finally got the chance to post it and I’m super excited~! :’D

You Are… I Am… We Can Be… 1

2:00 am in Anime / Manga Titles, Fiction Rated: T, Shugo Chara! by conniethecat

Disclaimer: First Shugo Chara FF -gasps- It must be kind of cheesy.

The alarm is ringing, but it’s not like I can hear it. What I’m doing is much more important than paying attention to the alarm that’s supposedly trying to wake me up from my dreams so I can get prepared for school. Not like I really care because this dream is much more important… I think. Do you want to know what I was dreaming about? I bet you do… and here it is:

“Amu, I wanted to tell you how much I really admire you!” I shouted into the distance where I saw the pink haired girl in her usual fashionable uniform.

She turn around to look at me and frowned, “What do you mean by admire, Kukai?” She asked me so innocently and so sadly, I couldn’t help but stutter at her question.

“Well… what I mean is-” and then something stopped me, I saw that person. He wrapped his arms around Amu and grew furiously jealous, heaven knows why. He smirked in my direction and I gripped my fists even harder because I knew I couldn’t reach where they were. “Wait, Amu!” Even worse, not only was that person there, Tadase, Nadeshiko (or now, Nagihiko), and that Kairi guy. It seems like everyone loves Amu and I’m one of those suckers.

Things couldn’t get lamer than those guys surrounding her in all their admiration. Until she actually stopped to look at me with those innocent and unknowing eyes. “What were you going to say?” Amu asked so purely.

“Nevermind,” I replied. It was a dream and I could try to win her love, but that would make me another one of her many admirers; one of the things I don’t want to end up being. Eventually they walked away and disappeared from my sight. I’m not sure, (remembering dreams clearly is very hard) but I’m pretty sure at this point I was walking around senseless. After a few seconds I realized something was bugging me, it was that… in midst of all that just happened in my dream, I saw a faint glow of light coming from them. When I came up to the area of where I saw this beacon of light, I saw that girl; the one who’s always fawning over cat-boy even though they’re siblings.

She stared at me, but then hid her face to cover whatever shame she was feeling. I’m no fool because I know she was crying about something. Then she wiped away whatever tears were on her face and talked to me, “What are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be following Amu?”

To my surprise, it wasn’t hard to reply back, “Well, I’d figure that it would be senseless to fall in love with someone who already has so many lovers. Besides, I wasn’t that into her anyways.” I shrugged and sat down next to her, but not very close; even if it was a dream, it was still awkward.

The girl frowned at me, as if even more ashamed of my actions. “How can you give up so easily? You never know until you try! The way you give up so easily disgusts me…”

“That’s the thing, I don’t honestly think I’m in love with her. Why try to manipulate my feelings when I don’t even know what’s right or wrong anymore?” I was shocked at myself for my awesome philosophical knowledge and apparently, so was she.

“Uhh… well… I guess your right…” she sighed.

I gave her a few pats on the back almost automatically and popped the question, “What about you?”

“I-I don’t want to talk about it personally,” she answered quickly.

“Come on, just tell me,” I pursuaded.

Unsure of what to do, (and the fact that this is my dream) she eventually told me about her own problems. “You see, Ikuto has always been my number one, but now that he’s with that Amu girl more… I just can’t help but think I’ll lose him. I love him and…”

“Are you sure you don’t love him in a sisterly way?”

“That’s what I’m not sure about. It was so fun in the beginning and… I’m getting off track and I need to get home. Thank you for listening to me, but I hate the thought of having to owe someone. What do you want me to do for you?” She stood up and looked down on me and I was just staring at her.

Her long flowing hair (it wasn’t in the ponytails this time, her hair was down) and her small body. My conscious was petrified at what I said next, “Why don’t you try to love me?”

“I-” and then the dream stopped.

So then, I finally woke up. The alarm clock was completely dead by now and I’m about to be late for school. I flew out of bed and did the daily routine. Daichi, my shugo chara (wink wink) was dead tired from trying to wake me up and probably deaf from the alarm as well. My parents had a piece of toast ready for me and I ate it while still trying to put on my shoes, stuff my backpack and getting on my bike to ride to school. During my chaotic ride to school, Daichi was barely keeping up with me and a girl who seemed like she was also in a rush was in the direction of which I’m riding.

“Hey, watch out!” I shout, but we collide as I jump out my bike and my mode of transportation swerves into someone’s wall. The girl is on top of me and I’m barely breathing. “A-Are you alright?” I ask subconsciously. I keep trying to get an answer from her until I realize, she’s out cold and I’m freaking out. That’s when I get a good look at her face, “Hoshina Utau…”

Daichi snaps me out of whatever dreamland I was in, “Kukai, we have to get her to the school infirmary!”

“Right, right, thanks Daichi,” I said while shaking my head; this cannot be happening. I picked her up and slung her over my shoulder, not a very polite way of doing it but it would be a lot faster I assure you. I’m wondering, “Where’s her shugo charas?” Daichi shrugged, only she would know something like that.

Somehow we made it to the school nurse and I laid her down on the bed. The nurse let me stay with the unconscious girl until she got some medicine or whatever. I wasn’t really paying attention, my eyes were glued on her. She was clad in casual clothes: a knee length skirt, boots, a shirt and jacket and yeah… I’m a guy, I’m not very descriptive with clothing. The weird thing was that I had the sudden urge to touch her, but not in a perverted place or way. I just wanted to feel her skin; it looked so smooth, so soft and… I sound so perverted right now. My hand is practically hovering over her cheeks and I’m still unsure of what to do. Once I finally decide to go for it, she wakes up; the timing of it all! “You… what were you trying to do?” she said while grabbing my wrists angrily.

“Uhh… nothing?” I said hopefully. I was trying to free myself from her grasp; fairly strong for someone as skinny as her.

Her face presented a look of disbelief, “I doubt it, now spill it or I’ll…” She paused for a moment and looked around semi-frantically and semi-calmly. She glared at me again, a face that was kind of scary, but cute at the same time. “You… You’re so lucky that my shugo charas are being complete idiots today!” she declared boldly. Reexamining her surroundings she realized that she was in a nurse’s office. “Wait… why am I here?”

If it couldn’t be any more obvious from the beds, medicine cabinets, random posters of the anatomy of the human body and close ups of the digestive systems, plus the fact that there was a large sign hanging from the ceiling that said ‘infirmary’; then the world is getting a little slower lately. I pointed at the sign hovering a couple feet over her head and she looks up. “I crashed into you and brought you here,” I explained simply.

“Oh… Sorry, I misunderstood your intentions and…” she apologized.

“It’s fine uhh…” I paused, not knowing what to call her.

“Utau-chan is fine,” she said; as if reading my mind.

“Utau-chan,” I repeated, liking the sound of it may I add.

She glances at the time and starts panicking. “I’m going to be late for my audition!” She grabs her purse and shakes it vigorously, “Wake up Eru, Iru!”

Two charas float out of it and respond sleepily, “What?” A couple more blinks and they start jumping around in panic. “OH! UTAU-CHAN! Hello.”

“Hello… that’s all you have to say to me after I almost got into an accident?” she retorted.

Eru, the angel, struggled to find words, but when she was about to speak up, Iru, the devil, interrupted her. “You wouldn’t have gotten into an accident if this guy was being more careful on the road!” she blamed heartlessly on Kukai.

Blunt Eru escaped from Iru’s clutches, “But he’s the one who took Utau-chan to the infirmary for safety!”

“Grr…” unable to think of any other reasons against Eru’s claims, her back faced Eru in reluctance. Meaning, she knew Eru was right.

Getting back on track, I decided to blurt out something they probably wanted to forget, “What happened to the audition?”

Utau sat back down on the bed and propped her head on her hands. She gave out a long sigh and looked distressed, “I’m not going to make it anyways. I’ll just get ready for the one I planned to go to next week. That way I can get in for sure… if nothing happens to me.”

“Hm…” I thought out loud, “One more year after this year, you’ll be a highschool student… yet how can you be so busy? Have all these plans and where do you get your education?”

“Well actually, I’m not stupid, but because I missed so many school days working for Easter before, I had to stay back a grade,” she admitted. I was intrigued that she actually answered my question, so I nodded and kept listening. “Plus… before, I actually skipped a grade so I could be closer to Ikuto in school even. They only let me skip one grade so I wasn’t very satisfied.”

“So that means you’re as old as me! Younger even.”

“Well…” she mumbled, “perhaps.”

“So now if you went to this school, you’d be in my division. now that I think about it… you must be pretty smart if you were allowed to skip a grade.”

Looking away she said, “When I was in Easter, I had many connections. Don’t think it was that amazing. If I had to admit it, I thought I was fairly smart as well. At least, smarter than most of the kids in my class at the time.”

For the rest of the school hours, we continued to talk about her life when she was in Easter as compared to her current life. By the time I realized how long we were conversing with one another; classes was already over.

“Darn… I missed all my classes today,” I laughed.

She covered her mouth with her hands, “I’m sorry!”

“It’s okay,” I told her, “…but I’m hungry. How ’bout you?”

She looked down at her stomach and rubbed it hungrily. Then looked back at me and nodded.

“Let’s go then.” Both of us stood up and left the nurse’s office to go find some food.

We walked around the local shops and decided ramen was the way to go. First of all, they were selling it cheap today and bread isn’t the most filling edible thing at the moment. We basically skipped breakfast and lunch today.

“I’ll pay for it,” she said while taking out her purse after finishing her bowl of noodles.

I couldn’t let a girl pay for me, for the sake of my pride I retaliated, “Don’t worry about it, I’ll pay.”

“I was already taken cared of by you and now it’s time for me to repay the favor,” she insisted.

“No, please, the pleasure’s mine, let me pay for it.”

We fought over the paycheck longer than it took us to eat. That meant that the waiter felt a little awkward refilling our glasses with lemon water and we kept fighting about the money.

In the end, we had to deal with sharing the costs of the ramen. “Why are you so stubborn?” she complained. Probably should’ve expected this, but my automatic reaction is to act surprised at her question.

“I could ask the same thing! Plus, I’m not stubborn… not like you. Just let me pay for the bill like a man. It would’ve been so much easier,” I replied.

She stomped her foot down with impatience behind me. Well… this is the point where guys turn around and beg on their knees to forgive them, but… I’m not that kind of guy. “Usually I could handle guys like you; worse even. But you continue to verbally harass me and I don’t like how you said that either. A man? Who ever said you were past the boy phase, let alone get to be a man?”

“Come on Utau, I’m being sarcastic…”

“I don’t care what you were being! I know plenty of other guys who are a lot more mature than you!”

Rolling my eyes I continued to fuel the fire, “I think that’s the point of sarcasm.”

She was fed up with me and turned away with her arms crossed, “Ikuto is definitely better than you.”

This girl… she just compared me with Ikuto. I stood there for a moment and soaked in her words. “You just compared me with Ikuto,” I said blatantly.

“Uh huh,” she confirmed.

“Isn’t Ikuto your most important person in the world?” I had a strange idea that I was willing to go through pain for.

“…uh huh,” she replied with an uncertain voice.

“You didn’t say men or guys or whatever, but you were directly comparing me to Ikuto. So that means you lik-”

“No!” she screamed, “I’m sorry I wasn’t careful with my words, but but… you don’t have to assume such ridiculous ideas. Kukai-san, I didn’t know you were such a stickler for words!” Utau-chan is cute, she was blushing when she said that.

In her confusion I resolved to make it up to her. Although I’m not sure if I really had a reason to do so. I came up, took her hand and started running to the famous couple fountain spot. “Sing,” I commanded.

“What? Why?” still in a dazed look.

“I’ll be your audience, so sing.”

“That… is such a weird thing to asked all of sudden. An-And you dragged me out all the way over here just to tell me that!”

“In the empty stage, the curtain has already fallen on my time for dreams. Just like yesterday, tomorrow will not come again,” I sang. Luckily there wasn’t anyone else there and my singing isn’t that bad.

Getting the gist of what I was doing, she continued the song and I listened, “I’ve realized it, the last scene is always so painful and beautiful, but I’ll wipe my tears and knock on this door. I’ll change into a brand new me! I bring out my courage without being ashamed! My heartful song. My heartful song…”

You are… Utau.
